I think the issue here is metrics – any client can monitor their campaign by establishing where they are in the search engines, but few bother to measure an uplift in enquiries / opt-ins. Creative SEOs need to set the client’s expectation and show a rounded measurement process – otherwise the industry will continue with the lazy option of benchmarking by SERPs only.
